After the big news on Sunday, my phone broke.
Between the texts and the news (and the tweets!), my phone froze so often that I had to restart it multiple times.
The majority of those texts (that didn’t include some combination of 🎉🌴🥥 asked one single question:
Now what?
The work ahead of Kamala and the DNC is clear: get her on the ballot.
Our work is also clear: get voters voting.
I have spent the last eleven years thinking about increasing voter turnout and in those eleven years I’ve always come to the same conclusion - it’s all about simple, one-on-one conversations.
This election IS winnable.
Candidates get elected when we decide they’re electable.
That means that whichever candidate you’ve got your eye on, you’re going to need to have some conversations on their behalf.
Which can feel intimidating, right?
Here’s the thing… it’s not. New things feel intimidating, but once you’ve had that first conversation, it’s smooth sailing from there.
Luckily, because I’ve spent the last eleven years thinking about voting, I’ve also been doing some work as well.
My nonpartisan nonprofit wants to help you turn your friends, family, and community into voters. That’s it. Not voters for a party. Not voters for a candidate.
Voters.
